You ever have a ROOT CANAL? Read this...

My dentist laughs at me every time I see him for being his only patient to ever refuse a root canal and have the tooth removed instead...no amount of research or data can make todays modern DDS look into the fact that root canals are one of todays major causes of chronic illness and death.

Not me but I want to FEEL GOOD while I'm around - looks like root canals are causing a lot of the chronic pain and a myriad debilitating conditions like arthritis..I want none of that shit.

Never had a root canal, thankfully. I try to maintain good oral hygiene.

                Regarding the science:
If you look at the research, especially by Meinig, who quotes Weston – Get the connection? Meinig quotes Weston. Most of the research was done before 1920. Can you imagine how endodontics was performed prior to 1920? No rubber dams, no sodium hypochlorite, no radiographs.
It makes sense to examine both sides to make the right decision about who to believe when it comes to managing your health.

A decade ago I skipped the root canal idea and opted for 29 extractions.

Because I needed a root canal your presumption is that I DONT maintain good oral hygiene? I bit down on a small rock that was in some Orowheat bread and the tooth broke open.

And if you look at the science its clear that none of the advances made since the '20's address anything they are saying about the reasons root canals can cause so much harm - all the tiny passage ways and blood vessels on the OTHER SIDE of the tooth are the harbingers..and not touched by modern Dentists. The only way this could be addressed is if they removed the tooth, sterilized the root and the socket, let everything heal, and then re-implanted the filled tooth.

Doctors and dentists are mostly zombies just like the rest of humanity. Just because they went through several years of school does not make them intellectuals. Usually it makes them more likely to be total zombies.

Up until fairly recently these zombies used mercury in fillings.

Root canals are often needed when a tooth is broken.
The break allows the root of the tooth to become infected.
                                The root is then removed.

Most people will get a cavity filled before it gets to the point of affecting a root.

Another reason why people might choose extraction over root canal is the price.

Root canal -- $1000 give or take, depending on dentist and work needed.

Extraction -- $100-$300, again depending on the dentist and if the tooth breaks and extra cutting is needed etc.

For a lot of people the choice if obvious. And for some there simply isn't a choice.

Cost me slightly over $1200 for 29 extractions.

                                        I got a bulk discount.

Cost wasn't a factor, though. I inherited my old man's soft-tooth gene. He had his all pulled in his early 20s. Mine lasted until I was 40.

It's about money for the dentist. The root canal will often fail so the dentist can double dip. Even if it succeeds the crowns will often fail later on. In this way the dentist has an almost never ending income stream from you. Some dentists are good people but many of them are the most money hungry people you will ever meet.

You don't like my posts? Put me on ignore or fuck right off. I'll say what I want.
