Seems to me though that Hong Kong would be awesome. The govt. still let's them alone because of the huge business market there. So I would assume that they can get all of the web there and of course use credit cards all they want in Hong Kong. But the mainland? Didn't they just block YouTube for showing scenes from the Tibet unrest? I would think that none of our sites are viewable in mainland China. But I'm just guessing here.

You can get an instant visa at the HK/Shzengen border, for the China SAR.
Visas for China itself are reasonably routine.
Visas for HK are normally instant on arrival for Shengen travellers.

I'd love to go to Asia. I would think Hong Kong would be a tremendous party town. The mainland...maybe not so much fun. But still very cool to see I'll bet.

Even more important than credit card penetration rates, is the issue of trust between buyers and sellers in a business environment where personal relationships and cash-based transactions have served as the traditional means of securing and settling a deal.

Furthermore, wages in China are low. A white collar Manager can expect to earn about $500 a month. Thus, selling a $29.90 monthly credit card subscription to him is futile on two counts : It is very unlikely he has one and even if he did, the subscription would represent an enormous proportion of his overall disposable income.

Clearly, cash is not suitable for web transactions. However, there is one payment device that practically all Chinese have access to ? the phone. Indeed, cellphone penetration in China is beginning to rival those of more developed markets.

Since the payouts available via such billing are less, you simply give them less time. After all, a monthly subscription usually equates to about a cost of about a dollar a day. So give them (say) 24 hours access if they pay you this way.

Another important consideration is that of language. Only about a quarter of Chinese learn English at high school, so it is imperative that you communicate with your new prospective clients in a language they understand ? theirs!

Your phone processor should be able to provide you with geo-ip tools that will enable you to easily accomplish this. If not, you should consider switching to one that does.

Then, and only then, can you start to make money ?made in China?

Seriously, it was crazy and a huge eye opener. I stood there in awe for a bit and just looked at screen by screen to see what they were looking at. PORN! Some had videos, some had photos up, but there was naked people and fucking going on all over, and the strange thing was nobody was shy about it. Nobody was beating off, they were just looking at it.

I couldn't tell what sites they were, I was just skimming the screens. Every now and then I'd see some gamer, but it was mostly porn up there. Free porn I'm sure based on them not being able to be billed. Crazy shit.

So check your stats on your free sites. You very well may be giving China their fix.

I have read over and over that China blocks sites. I'm sure they do, but I doubt, based on the size of the country alone, they can stop everyone from looking at it.

Oh... another strange thing. When you go into a net cafe there, you have to present an ID or passport to get online.
