All depends what your needs are.
If you just want a shared hosting plan, i would tell you to with servage.net.
5000GB transfer a month, 510gb harddisk, control panel and autoinstallers etc included for 6,35-7,50€a month (about 10$ a month) + a free domain.
I have used them for a year until my site was to big/heavy to be supported there.
Jaguarpc has decent services that include full support;
i have one of their VPS services now, costs me 20$ a month; they often do promo deals with 20% discount for life and 50% more resources. They also offer resellers and dedicated servers.
The general advice i can give is to go for a big company, since a small one will screw you anyhow, if not by letting you pay more then by not giving 24/7 support or just them going bankrupt.AWE (average ratio 1:300)

Dreamhost is not doing to well these days!
Started up with Dreamhost about two weeks agao and they started having outages. The "blingy cluster of servers" that they put me on is bad and it has taken about a week to fix it. If you go to petitekittens.com you will see a 403 which means all of my link trade will probably go bad and I will have to start all over.
So many people are pissed about this too. Have a look at
dreamhost status dot com (can't post the url yet I'm still a newby).
