Transfer in progress is the default and shown regardless of whether a domain is transferred out to a different registrar or pushed within the same registrar. If you're worried about it automatically getting taken out of your GoDaddy account, try to transfer it out. You can go into your GoDaddy account and instantly approve a transfer out after submitting the auth code with the receiving registrar. With other registrars, you would typically have to wait 5 days after submitting the auth code.
As a buyer, I'd be pissed you didn't hold up your end of the agreement to sell at the fixed price. It's really your own fault for neglecting to update the price or status. Consider the repercussions to your reputation if the buyer outs you for being a less than ethical businessman. If the sale price is not significantly less than fair market value, then sell it and chalk it up to a lesson learned.
