I never met him & don't know him personally, but I feel like I known him for many years because of seeing him here & other boards and chatting on icq over the last few years.
He was a nice guy and it's so sad to learn that he passed on over a month before anyone knew..
I know I said I was done posting here since I have exited the industry, but someone forwarded this thread to me, and I really did feel the need to respond.
Mark and I spent much time talking to each other about all kinds of things, and both being geeks we enjoyed troubleshooting various technical dramas together on occasion.
I wondered why I hadn't seen him on ICQ for so long, and I guess now I know.
A funny kind of thing the internet is, enabling you to make friends that you've never actually met in person.
If anyone does hear of any family he may have, or of any sort of service that may be held for him, please contact me and let me know. I'd like to send off a wreath or something.
Also, perhaps even more appropriate, if anyone knows of any charities that he was particularly fond of that we could send a donation to in his honor, I think that'd be an appropriate gesture for those of us that wish to make one as well.
Seeing those pics just makes it all that much harder.
I still remember the lunch with jact, lady mischief, shemp, TD and myself.
I'll always have a lot of convention memories but there's always one or two that you can just never shake, you never forget every last wonderful detail of it... and that lunch was one of those times.
It's been hours since I heard and I just can't stop thinking about him. My wife feels like she knows him because I've always talked so highly of him, for years. I've lost friends before but... it's so much harder when the person is just so genuinely nice, so helpful... goes out of his way so much. He was a gem in a crowd of coal.
That meal will always be in my memory was one of the most memorable, enjoyable days in my industry experience. It's definitely up there in my top ten Mark moments.
thats really sad..i'm surprised some of his friends didnt call on him sooner though
People WERE trying to get a hold of Mark for quite a while. Due to his nature though sometimes he could be difficult to get a hold of, and with nobody having access to his home, and no family nearby, there really was no way. People were knocking on his door, but if nobody answered it, there was no way to know what was going on.
I'm sorry to read that he's passed on.
He was always one of the few that would be patient with people, whether designing a skin or just shooting the shit.
So sad.
How sad,I did not know Mark at all but from the posts here it seems that he touched many people and many lives. He seems to have had a much bigger family then he thought he did.Rest In Peace Mark.

this is very sad! all of us who read your posts or communicated with you on any level were reminded of your fairness and your always look on the bright side of life attitude especially in the darkest moments!
i only chatted privately with the guy a couple times while he was moderating GFY but damn this thread has saddened me - i feel like sleeping for 24 hours.
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!
What can anyone possibly say that would express how terrible this event is. No one wants to die, but dying alone and no one finding you for a month is just tragic.
This is terrible news Mark could always make me laugh in our very colorful chats on ICQ. In my dealings with him both professional and friendly he was a stand up guy. My condolences to his close friends, he will be missed.

Oh my god...I can't believe this.Been one of my worst days in a long time.Mark was one of the good guys.he sent me a playboy coat and a sweet clock when he was Adult.com.and he always listened to me .I'm in shock and don't like feel like posting..god bless you Mark..TD
TD was truely a gifted man..he was damn smart at what he did,he had many desires and I feel was unappreciated while he worked at trying to make this board somewhat stable..I haven't seen or heard of anybody yet to try to accomplish to make this board better.
Mark was a mod who gave a shit and fucking tried..I honestly am pretty shaken up..I feel fucking terrible
Fuck. Thats amazingly upsetting. I didnt know TD, though he did give me a profile infraction way back when.
My best wishes go out to all of you who knew him well. I feel for all of you, and I hope that in this dark time you all may find peace and comfort in the memories Mark left with you.
R.I.P. T.D.
And Jet- I'm sure I will find a more appropriate thread to level my opinion on you in.
I'm funner than AIDS, and easier to explain to your parents.
