      that may be true for some but I moved out of the US about 4 years ago and havnt regretted it for one minute

                                                          I actually did enjoy living in the SF/Bay Area, but since I was a kid my family moved around a lot, to different countries so I got a taste of what is out there and that carried through to when I got older.

                                                          Everyone has their own preferences, and each has a right to their own opinions but I always find it amusing how there are so many on here that bash other countries without ever living anywhere outside their own borders. And that goes for the US bashers as well.

                                                                                      There is no end to arguing about any countries policies ... the actual day to day life is what interests me.

                                                                                                      To be honest since I moved my day to day life hasn't really changed that much, except I gave up living in a house to moving into an apartment.One of the things I did gain in my everyday life was time, sounds weird but not having to drive everywhere and living in a city where everything is walkable left me with more time to spend doing other things.

                                                                                                      I moved here (Hong Kong) for the culture, I absolutely love it. I lived here when I was in my teens and the city has been in my blood ever since.

                                                                                                              its definetely not for everyone, but Ive actually been surprised with how many people from the US, Canada and Europe that came here on 1-3 year work contracts ended up permanently moving here.

                                                                                                              But like I always tell all my friends back in the US, its one of those places that is worth the visit, atleast once.

                                                                                                                  I moved from Canada to the US. Every country has its perks and downs. I prefer the US over Canada. Maybe I'd like the UK more, or even Morocco. Who knows.

                                                                                                                                  I'm not shocked my first wife's parent's were from Canada. The only way you could tell was they didn't wear coats during our "cold" winters.
