In my experience, you are dead on.

I once knew a guy, we were relatively close, who was the conspiracy theory king. If there was a theory floating around, he knew all about it, all of the angles, why it was true, why it was being covered up, so on and so forth.

He also thought one of his only friends stole his shitty car stereo. His landlord poisoned him with black mold. His roommate played peeping Tom on him jerking off.

And the list goes on and on?

I don't know why but it never dawned on me until somebody pointed it out, and then I quickly realized why he was so off. I'm now sure that he had some level of schizophrenia.
