300,000,000 plus humans in the US, a defective one does something tragically stupid every few months and we want to make laws, change policy, restrict freedoms, point fingers, etc. We should feel lucky this doesn't happen all the time.
As for guns, quit imagining/fantasizing there's a delete button to make them go away.
