cars are so much cheaper in the US (and Canada)...
but i dont want to buy a new car, it would park outside in the city center all the time and throughout the year and it would be ruined quickly. waste of money.
i rather buy another beater like the last one - bought it for $5k and it lasted 4 years i thinkComment

That sucks.
In the last two weeks, I spent a total of $3400 on repairs on two cars that just had to have "service" done on them
Get a city car yea, my gf drives a toyota iq - has good mileage and can park anywhere. Just get the Q2 or Q3 version and it's decent car (unless you want to have lots of HP haha)But.... I pulled out...Comment

Sounds like you got your money out of it, I have a 2000 f150 that just went over 170k miles and still looks like it just came of the showroom floor. I've had to replace a transmission and a ring and pinion gear. Other than that, damn strong truck. I've had it air born behind the Playboy offices when I worked there with Loryn and Ice in it!
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about thatComment

Cars are not all that cheaper in Canada than Europe, especially when you have US tv and see all the deals on cars just 15 minute drive away.
I don't know why anyone would ever buy a car in the USA, leases are unbelievably cheap, like nothing! Brand new BMW for 3 years, $300 a month, shit like that.Comment

leasing is the way to go you can deduct 100% of the lease from your company income tax.Comment

Well I still have a spare one if you were interested

In all honesty, that is the economical and logical way to go. New is a waste unless its a 100% biz expense. No sense paying 8x as much just cause it has less KMS/Miles.cars are so much cheaper in the US (and Canada)...

Even factoring in upkeep and repairs, used is the way to go.
Perfect example: We paid 3500 for our Pt Loser ($200 a month). Prolly put 2200 in repairs since buying it last November (700 of which was actual upkeep and not related to wife's driving haha). So total cost per month averaged to $369 a month. That's still a lot less than payments on a new car and all the major shit was all repaired (including a busted timing belt that almost murdered it).
Best part is, it's almost paid off and will last us another few years (so long as wife's driving stays good).Comment
