Right now I'm using the Canon 24-70 2.8 lens. It's nice and has worked great.
But I think I'd like to move to the 11 blade realm and I don't EVER need the zoom feature of the lens I have now.
I'm thinking something around a 50mm maybe?
What do you think? Shooting in close quarters...

Get the Canon 50 f1.2 It is an amazing lens and exactly what you are looking for. For the type of shooting you do it is ideal and you can achieve very narrow DOF with it. Google some sample images and you will see

I would not spring for the cinema version as you will see so little benefit from it vs the double cost. It is not worth it.

The 70-200 is an epic lens is probably the lens I use the most. For Robbie and most adult though it is too long for shooting video inside unless you have a rig and deep sets.
