Comparing him to Justin Bieber is so far off base it's not even funny.

If you've ever seen his 1968 "comeback" special...then you would realize why he's "The King".

Like I said... he was a little before my time. But as I grew older and started to really appreciate his ability, I realized just why he was the biggest entertainment phenomena of the 20th century.

Bieber?
As soon as I was old enough to find out he didn't write his own songs I lost any shred of respect I might have had for him. He's lucky people with real talent put "shit pop music" into his mouth to croon like a wind up monkey.. He's a glorified set of speakers pumping out the creativity of others. He's also lucky he came at a time of universal audience attention with 4 tv channels and no way to escape him instead of the fragmented marketplace there is now. Then again you can say that of many people, Rolling Stones etc etc.

I wouldn't call Elvis talentless, he had a good voice, but good voices are a dime a dozen, you can't piss at an Idol audition without hitting a few but I have far more respect for people that create music. If he was 18 today trying to break into the industry no one would give a flying fuck about him which shows his true worth.. Even total jackbags like Kanye who use samples I put far higher in the scheme of things than pretty looking vocal stenographers. Honestly no different to Bieber, just Bieber is a bit younger and therefore even more calculated to appeal to little girls and fake.
