This is true and I know of two guys, who went to prison for murder 2, because they were hanging out with some asshole friends that killed somebody during the commission of a felony. (I know them, they are not my best buddies)
One of the guys actually got out of the car at the gas station and started walking away 'cause he didn't want to be a part of what his friends were getting ready to do. (rob the place) The cops told him he should have called them and turned in his friends, instead of keeping silent.
It was a righteous shoot the old lady did!!!!

the story is fabricated and we aren't talking murder here, if it were real it would have been assault and i've been in a group of people of which 1 assaulted another. i can assure you, after going through the legal crap of it all, if the person died, i would not have been charged with any crimes.
