If you are with a group of persons committing a felony and they kill somebody... you can get a felony murder charge for your troubles. Guilt by association.
This is true and I know of two guys, who went to prison for murder 2, because they were hanging out with some asshole friends that killed somebody during the commission of a felony. (I know them, they are not my best buddies)
One of the guys actually got out of the car at the gas station and started walking away 'cause he didn't want to be a part of what his friends were getting ready to do. (rob the place) The cops told him he should have called them and turned in his friends, instead of keeping silent.
It was a righteous shoot the old lady did!!!!
