Been divorced for the past 15 months. Was married for close to 4 years. I guess it depends, but it is not a nice experience, and overall it was a difficult change in lifestyle. Had to go through a lot of shit to rediscover who I am. The legal procedures can be life-draining when you have a crazy ex-wife who wants your money.

I got a divorce (it was vicious), 4 years ago and while I have to pay a hefty child support payment out of each check, I could not be happier. I have done so many things and seen different corners of the world, since cutting that woman (and any others) out of my life. These days, I don't even welcome a girlfriend, in an effort to stay single and happy. Just like J. Falcon, I have a crazy (and SUPER lazy) ex-wife who wants me to pay her way through life.

Put a plastic bag over you head. Breathe.

Starting to feel suffocated? Keep the bag on your head.

Now it's hot and steamy in the bag, no oxygen... resist the urge to pull the bag off. Keep it there for another minute.

Head hurting now... panic probably setting in... you'll do anything at this point to breathe, but keep it there a few more seconds...

Lungs are burning, you're breathing faster and faster but getting no oxygen... fear of passing out and dying is very real at this point... couple more seconds...

Ok, now take the bag off.

That first breath of air? THAT is what divorce feels like.

I can't comprehend divorce.Losing my wife of 8 years and two daughters would be hell. Sure they cost me a fortune and give me a headache virtually every day but I just can't imagine life without them..

The emotions leading up to deciding to get divorced were much worse than once I made the choice and did it. It was a big deal in my own mind to break a vow but it had to be done.

I don't understand why people get Married if they know for sure they will get divorced.

I can't even understand it in USA or in the ANGLO-Saxon world, where they are more "Cold" than the latin world.

You can clearly see it in Hollywood actors, you know for sure they will divorce soon or late, every single actor, and yet they get married. Hard to understand. And no, don't tell me that they marry because they love eachother. Even if they love eachother, they know that soon or late they will divorce, so it makes no sense to marry. Seriously.

I wasn't officially married but it was 10.5 years together. It's hard but after a few months it gets easier.
It's still expensive though, I'm paying for her new place, let her keep her car, kept her on my insurance... and she still doesn't have a job.

My "number" has increased by around 15 in the last 3 months alone though
                                I still miss her though.
