I'm planning to open up a small review site of my own, and I was wondering if its generally okay to use whatever photos i find about the site; or if i have to stick to the ones featured in the "promo material" sections such as the photos in the free galleries and all.

No idea about this - this is my first big attempt at making a site of my own and don't know much about rules on images.
