Take Foley. He is not a Congressman anymore and was hit very hard in the press. Clinton did get away with it in the sense that his popularity didn't suffer.
Politicians are publicly criticized every day by either their own party, their own party or the press. Clinton left office with a very high 65% approval rating and yet that means only 2/3 of Americans "approved".

If, for example, Ron Paul was all of a sudden exposed as being guilty of doing something that he heavily criticizes, would it bother you as much as the hypocrisy of others?Comment
