Transparent tours are where it's at
Consider a WordPress based pay site using one install / DB: visitors see the post excerpt and thumb / face image, logged in members get the full post / set. A similar arrangement is possible with any other CMS and makes transparent sites easy. You can use CCBill etc. for .htaccess control to /members dir and cookies to set whether excerpts link to full post or join page.
