Mine's never straight out lied to me, but it has definately taken me down some
"roads", and if i'm driving across the country frequently the 'shortest' route is about 100km longer then it should be.Mechanical Bunny Media

Mine took me to a cemetery once, then proudly announced "You have arrived."

Whatever you do don't trust the GPS in Hertz rental cars in Miami and SE Florida... I had to experience it a few times to completely write it off and decide it was safer to stop at every gas station in the ghetto and ask for directions.

mine had given me a few "lefts turns" when it really had to be right!
and, often gives very silly routes, like get off the highway to exits early, even though the destination is right comfortably located two exits later...Comment

I went to a resto the other night and it sent me to a parking lot NEXT to the resto, but you couldn't access the resto parking lot from where it sent me. I spent another 5 minutes getting back on the main road and to the resto itself. It's a 2006 car and I found out the GPS is from 2002 - then they had the nerve to send me an offer for an update for $150.
I like the Garmin I bought for the Wrangler a lot better
Neither of them have my house or even my street on it, lol.Comment

Chicago and Detroit it has fucked with me several times. Places where a shitload of freeways intersect like Washington DC is an absolute nightmare. Get downtown where there's skyscrapers and good luck getting a proper signal!
I've also had mine in some country ass shit in West VA and it has been a little difficult... Being told to turn right when there's a large dropoff and shit like that.
Garmin C320 here, planning on upgrading to one of those new wide, large screen ones with bluetooth and voice recognition.
I've put nearly 25k miles on my car in 6mnths + 1wk so somebody like me spending a few hundred on a GPS is worth it! If you don't travel much don't bother getting one unless you are in fact "rich"-- QUOTE ME IT MAKES ME FEEL SPECIAL --Comment

Tom Tom software stops navigating if it thinks you're off the road (eg on a long private driveway). This wouldn't normally be an issue except once I get into rural areas the path I'm driving doesn't seem to match what they have stored, so... apparently I'm off the road, and it ceases giving me instructions.
I once drove 11km in the wrong direction before it suddenly "snapped" back onto the road and told me to turn around.Comment

Almost as good as my aunt's.
She and her husband were a bit late at a funeral, and arrived as the coffin was already being carried to the grave. They'd taken the GPS from the car, but had forgotten to turn it off. Here's what it said, at the very moment they reached the group of people escorting the coffin:
"If possible, turn around and return."
And yes, that actually happened

The Garvin I bought for the Wrangler is so much more accurate than the built in on the Cherokee - aren't they all using the same satellites?
We were driving through Alabama on a 4 lane road a few weeks ago and the Cherokee kept telling me I was going off the road. On, off, on, off - it was crazy.
Plus it calls the road I drive on to get to Atlanta something different depending on if my final destination is in Marietta or in Atlanta proper.
They still save me HOURS AND HOURS of time and I'll never be without one again
