    Why does GFY not allow you to browse using a proxy?

      Because of bots and banned people would be my guess. Mostly bots scraping the site and ripping content.

                      If you have a web server, just setup an SSH tunnel from your home to your server. Then tell your browser and other apps to use the SSH tunnel like a SOCKS5 proxy. =)
