+1 Terminally Married
As with everything in life there are pluses and minuses to marriage, so I guess it depends on what you put into it, and what you want to get out of it...

In my case, my wife is my best friend, and I can't imagine my life now without her.

The OP edited the question.
I saw his original question and it was:
"I can't see how being married is not going to put in serious risk all your assets"...
So, the OP is worried about money above all.
Easy dude. If you are worried about your assets, just don't marry or just make some kind of pre-nuptial agreement.
Otherwise you can see what happened to great actors and talents like Robin Williams, Mel Gibson, just to name a few.
In our western society, DIVORCE is always going to benefit the female gender. Otherwise there is absolutely no logics of why Robin Williams or Mel Gibson lost dozens of millions of dollars they earned after working very hard for years and years...Comment

Good news is that if she took half my shit, it's really fair since we both make good money.Comment

7.5 years to my best friend in the whole world, and couldn't imagine life without her. 2 year ago we had a son and frankly my life is so full of contentment that to try to describe it would make you all want to puke from how corny it would sound.
I didn't get married until I was 43 though.... and I was ragingly single before that. I think that getting to my 40s unmarried, was key to really knowing what I wanted and what I was looking for in a partner for life. Looking back I know that if I had married any of the girls I was dating when I was younger it would have ended badly.....

I agree 100%, nobody should get married until 40+, with lots of money and a total understanding of each other.
Good luck OP!AsiaMoviePass My Best Rebilling SiteComment

Rolling up on 15 years with the same woman. A woman I wouldn't trade for anything. She is my back bone.
As somebody else stated, find her. I slutted out to a hundred women until I found the first woman I wanted to leave my dick in when I came... not pull out. I know that sounds rude, but I have to keep it real to GFY. I honestly wanted her to accept my cum, and stink like it all day.
She looks hot when she goes out, but if somebody was to want to fuck her? She would reak like my 3-4 loads a day... best part? She loves it.
When everything is comfortable, perfect, no worries, and you want to create children? Like I want to create a child with this woman and share that closeness? That's when you know. It's a gut feeling that almost hurts, chokes you up.Comment

We was dating over 5 years before the marriage, and marriage haven't changed anything at all.
I think what really make a huge change (and not defiantly for better) is - kids.Comment

This is almost identical to my current situation.
Been engaged for about 4 years now. I don't really care about weddings at all. Although i know that she wants to get married. Like you say, the expense is just ridiculous and simply something i can't really justify, just for a piece of paper to say we are now married. We are actually considering just to head to Vegas and get married there either next year or the year after. That would suit me fine.
My cousin was with her bf for 8 years, got married earlier this year with a huge wedding, and they separated only a few weeks ago. So it shows that marriage doesn't really mean shit when it comes to it...

was thinking about that with a girl we lived together for 4 years. At the same day I was choosing proposal rings, I came home and left her. As I understood there is no future with her. She changed a lot through these 4 years. To the bad side.

I must be another of those "senseless idiot" atheists you denigrate out of ignorance.
It may come as a surprise to you...but not everyone defines marriage strictly in the christian terms you do.
For starters - my wife and I weren't married in a church. We were married by a Supreme Court of Canada justice in the beautiful gardens of his home. Ours was a secular civil ceremony.
My wife and I view marriage as symbolic of our commitment not only to ourselves, but also our children.
Notions of christianity and religion weren't even a consideration.Comment
