"I can't see how being married is not going to put in serious risk all your assets"...
So, the OP is worried about money above all.
Easy dude. If you are worried about your assets, just don't marry or just make some kind of pre-nuptial agreement.
Otherwise you can see what happened to great actors and talents like Robin Williams, Mel Gibson, just to name a few.
In our western society, DIVORCE is always going to benefit the female gender. Otherwise there is absolutely no logics of why Robin Williams or Mel Gibson lost dozens of millions of dollars they earned after working very hard for years and years...
