With the powers that they have given themselves to spy on their own citizens, the government now has the ability to blackmail political opponents, find and stop anyone that may expose government abuses, and muzzle investigative journalists. The fact that there are so many people like you that think that this is no big deal, is a sad commentary on how sheeplike people have become.
