    Oil price hits new high of $110 a barrel with no sign of a fall

    The oil price hit a new record for the fifth consecutive trading session, coming within a whisker of $110 a barrel, as the International Energy Agency warned there was little prospect of energy costs falling far.

                                                                                          The oil industry equals the people because most if not all companies are owned by the public...in that they have stock holders. Virtually everyone with a 401K or an IRA have stock in oil companies. They are currently operating at an 8 plus percent profit margin which is a reasonable margin. Oil will continue to climb in price (with minor decreases here and there) until all oil reserves are depleted. Simply a fact of life.
