Once again you are ignorant of fact...Cuban health care in fact is really bad care for their regular citizens...conducted in facilities that would be condemned in the U.S. They do have rather good health care for foreigners which is paid for with hard cash...but these facilities are not available to the regular Cuban citizens.
As for the myth that they have a lower infant mortality rate than the USA...is because they do not keep the same stats. The biggest difference is that they as many other countries do not have the capability or facilities to care for premature births and the U.S. does...and the death rate on the first day of these births is around 30-40 percent. Cuba and many other countries do not count these as live briths but as fetuses.

The affordable care act is law. It's been debated to death, we've been through the "death panels" bullcrap, had elections, had the supreme court weigh in, and right now it is the law. That's the process. The big experiment called democracy.
The joy that some house republicans are having over succeeding in shutting down the government should make people cringe. Go back to 2010 and you'll find clips of them running for office on the promise of a shutdown. It's funny that at the 11th hour they tried very poorly to claim it was Harry Reid or Obama who wanted the shutdown. Try telling parents of children who's head start programs have closed that the shutdown was worth it and I think they'll raise a one fingered salute. GOP pundits go on TV and write how it won't be a big deal while a million people or so aren't being paid and having to look for work, not to mention citizens who may make their one and only trip of a lifetime to a national park, or others who no longer get some form of government help that is temporarily closed. Smooth move come election time. Smooth move. All because of some whiney babies who don't want Americans to get health care on the PROMISE that it will cost them more money. Let the thing play out! million$ eh? man the total for my 40 years of living is 3000$ for one single surgery that was for something behind my eye and I could not wait the 1 month to get it done free...all the rest was free...maybe I walked in to a pharmacy a few times to pick up some flu medication or aspirin but its like 2$ down here you cant really count that?
the #1 reason for personal bankruptcy in your country is medical bankruptcy...you will not find one single person in my entire 3rd world country that went bankrupt from medical bills ...how do you guys not get it? you are being screwed...

So question is "if" something were to happen to you and it was more than your cash flow could handle who exactly would pay your bills?
I am 40 years old. I have never been in a hospital, been sick, had a broken bone or stitches, nothing. However lets say I have a heart attack tomorrow that could rack up around 400k of bills I don't have the money to pay.
I guess I could just not pay it and lose my home which is only worth about 100k and let the Dr's and hospitals eat the rest of my bills. That would be fair I mean they are all rich and the Govt will bail them out anyways. ....Of course there is always the option of filing bankruptcy and starting over brand new without a care in the world. It is not like not paying my bills and being accountable is unethical or anything.
While I am at it I should just go ahead and cancel my automobile insurance. Chances are I will never get in an accident because I never have before. If I do then who gives a crap being my middle class savings account could adequately pay for the hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical bills that could be racked up and if it doesn't then ohh well I will figure out how to pull hundreds of thousands of dollars out of my anus when it happens.

I can't say I am a big fan of ObamaCare. Not sure why it is named that being it is NOTHING like his original plans. Once the people that actually make our laws got ahold of it the plan was butchered apart and then carelessly sewed back together with pieces of moldy duct tape. However the majority of American's are in favor of national heathcare. It was his #1 campaign issue and he won his first and second presidency on that platform. People didn't vote for him because of his stance on gay marriages or because he could eat a hotdog in NYC and give fistbumps. People voted for him for healthcare. That is what the majority wanted and the minority who didn't want it should suck it up and follow the laws like any other law that a minority of people don't like.
Our Govt looks like retards right now and the entire world is watching it look like retards. Any Govt official who supports a decision to allow for our Govt to shut down when we are already a struggling economy needs to dropkicked in the nuttsak and have their pay and position immediately taken away.
Any one who thinks this is all the Republican's fault also needs a dropkick. Both sides have spent the past 6+ years acting like immature children and personally I don't see one single one of them who stands out as deserving their position any more. Some are better than others but all of them are ultimately tardaloos.

Not everyone has a lawyer on retainer. They are outrageously expensive. Who needs lawyers the most? People who are magnets for getting into situations involving the police and the courts, like O.J. and George Zimmerman.
The only two accidents of my life that required medical attention were both job related at a the same 9 to 5 employer that provided 100% paid for health care. Oh, the irony..

Let me tell you something in the 70's-80's that may have held water but not today - thats just bluster if you say that these days..saying you wounldnt do chemo is a bluff and everyone who knows anything about cancer knows it.
There are many forms of cancer that used to almost always be fatal that have VERY HIGH success rates for total cure with Chemotherapy. My grandma got an additional 12 good years after her Lymphoma. You catch that shit early enough these days and Chemo will work most of the time and you can extend your life by decades.
Hope this never happens to anyone reading this but if you ever find yourself sitting in a doctors office and he is recommending you do Chemo or die... you're going to go home and research the FUCK outta your disease and the Chemotherapy success rate for your particular strain... and guess what - you're going to do the Chemo...and it aint cheap!
Libertarian leaning types will brag till the ends of earth about how they will never suck the teat of the Fed...oh..until they get cancer and are un/under insured.

As I have explained many countries...including Cuba...do not count premature births that die as having been a live birth because they do not have either the financial ability and/or the medical capability to care for them.
The U.S. spends the money and has the medical capability (plus the law probably requires it) to care for premature births...of which 30-40% do not live beyond the first day of their birth and they are counted as live births...live or die.When you're running down my country hoss...you're walking on the fighting side of me!
