I remember many moons ago trying out some "cash program" and it was based on that. I was a mid aged teen at the time. Just had to request county property logs and then attempt to locate the people or companies. Explain that there is no cost involved to them and you can get them X amount of cash if they signed a limited power of attorney. You obtained the cash for them after locating them, took your 10-15% and paid out the rest to the person.

I really think this was the only "cash program" I ever seen that sort of worked ok. You really needed to push to get them to let you get them their money but hell it did work. This was well before it was all available online though I am sure it would still work, just require even more conviencing.

Side points, make sure you check spellings close to your name, every county you ever lived in, etc. Lots of times its silly crap like mentioned (utilities deposits, old bank accounts, lost checks/cash via mail, safety deposit boxes, small retirement accounts, and other sorts).

My legal name is Anthony but I always go by Tony. Since every previous employer and bank knows me by my legal name, I never checked "Tony." I just found something else from a utility under initial T. at an old address I had almost 10 years ago.
