                          Seriously John I feel you. English is not my first language and I must admit that I'm not the best at it whether it be syntax, grammar or orthography but reading what seems to be written by a retard is pretty annoying.

                          Now if you have a disability that you can't control I can understand, but if you are just being dumb and lazy, I won't support you.

                                      I said it's not their fault.
                                      I said those who do speak English natively are probably bigger offenders.

                                      It wasn't an attack on people who are new to the English language. In fact I applaud them for coming here and doing business where they are not as comfortable as they would be if everyone spoke their native language.

                                      In actuality it was simply meant to be a humorous and light hearted attempt at using all three words (plus than and then I might add) in two sentences.

                                      It certainly wasn't an attack on foreigners or me trying to be a doorknob

                                                                  Agreed. All that means is that most will never get it. I guess I just had to vent about it. However, I do see it getting worse. Perhaps it is the influx of surfers, etc. here.

                                                                  Also, from what I hear, kids these days turn in papers in school with SMS message and chat abbreviations/speak in them. I also believe I saw an article about a year or so ago with a professor at a university somewhere making the argument that it was the evolution of the language rather than a lack of education.

BUT it doesn't really have anything to do with intelligence, some of the worst offenders are very smart and make a fortune in this industry. it's more a social class and education thing.

                                                                                                                                                          when somebody says or writes 'I seen that movie' I cringe - and people pick that up from their parents, same as black people almost always say 'i wanna ax you a question' - most of them know it's not correct but it just comes out of their mouths that way because that's how they learned the language when they were young.

                                                                                                                                                          schools are too lazy and politically correct to beat kids over the head with that stuff.

                                                                                                                                                          back in my parents' day it was different - teachers would drive basic math and grammar into kids' heads so that even a dropout could read and write proper English and handle basic math.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  With English being my second language I feel like I can speak better than people that speak English as their first language. It seems like people are speaking far more ''slanguish'' in this country than ever. And its not even because they don't speak English well I think most people are just lazy to even talk. This has become a texting world!!!
