I spent time in the Haight and later was part of the Paris riots.
If it had not been for hippies there would be parents naming their children "Beaver", the only reason a woman would go to school is to get an "MRS. Degree" and the only opinion a woman would have is what her husband gave her plus all non-whites would be still sitting on the back of the bus. In short everything from being allowed to have long hair and engaging in pre-marital to civil rights you owe to a dirty fucking foul mouthed hippie.
So if the 1960s militants were only 1% then we certainly made more then an enough noise and chaos to cover the asses of the other 99%.
