How do they make money to support the program? Do the ads really support it? I find it hard to believe that a lot of people click them. I understand how AIM, MSN ,and Yahoo messengers continue on because it's part of their network.

Yes via the advertising plus they have been owned by AOL for almost forever thus making them part of a network (AIM). Plus they offer assorted upsales and the like, click around sometimes. Hell I even accidently click the damn ads on ICQ on occassion. Oddly that is how I found one "mainstream" cam site which happened to have an adult area.Comment

Nah it was full of advice, psychics, spiritual babel, and that sort of crap. Ok technically it was a "phone" site with 99.9% offering free cams with the phone calls.
Keep in mind how many fools use fortune tellers, advice counselling, life coaches, confessionals, or other types of services each day. Then we all know what they say in regards to a fool and their money.Comment

I really don't get it two, until fucking new ICQ installed toolbar, go into my FF search bar, and they get ads for some keywords that don't trig me ads when sear them directly true google. Arrr
