Im doing considerably more traffic than that daily just on mikesouth.com. I have other sites on the server as well Its not a majorly expensive server talk to M3 the guys there can set you up reasonably.
SSD is not required at all but 8GB may be a bit low but the real deciding factor will be your own WP implementation. video, pictures, all that stuff make a difference.Mike South

If setup right (both the server and the wordpress blog), you don't need an expensive host...Need a VPS? Yeah, plus they fucking disabled the database and told me to fix it before they would turn it back on, which was impossible because of the way I 'broke' it, so they turned it back on after a month of me complaining that I need the database on to fix the problem, only to bill me again for another month..

WP is a resource hog out of the box its one of the worst scripts out there
