    Newbie TGP question: are they automatic?

    I'm new to the concept of TGPs and had a really basic question:

    When you set one up, is the process of updating them automatic or do you need to go in and select which thumbnails and galleries you want?

    From checking out some TGP software it looks like the process is to sign up with sponsors that provide TGP content but after that I'm not clear if the sponsors content is automatically added and updated to your TGP site or if you have to go in and edit each gallery and select pics.

      It's basicly install script. bring in all the gallerys from the sponsors. Then select the thumbnail and make it the way you want (play with colours, sharpness, etc). Then when you have say 1000 thumbs the script will rotate the thumbs. For example I have Robotgp and in my templates I would use a token. So instead of using links to thumbs I would use {gal=1} then {gal=2}
      so the script would put a thumb/link into that spot.

          you just need to add the urls of the galleries to your script. A good tgp script will automatically chose and crop a thumb for you.

          You add the galleries and your script will add them to your tgp in the amount and interval you specify.

                  I love the TGP scripts that you input CSV's with URL,DESC,THUMBURL and let it rip. Copy/paste and forget about it for months. You may need to set a cronjob on your server to have it repopulate at a specified interval, but that's cool.

                  Mine took me like an hour to set up, another hour to populate and it has probably 10,000 galleries in it.

                      That's dependent on the processing power of your server. If you have a good dedicated should be no more than an hour.
