Anyway how much can a coin that Michael Jackson give as a gift to someone be worth?
I used to buy memorabilia for the Hard Rock Cafe. With solid proof that it was only 1 of 10 and that it came from where you say it came from and you asked for $5000...I wouldn't have hesitated to give that to you. That doesn't mean that's what it's worth. Just that I had a pretty much unlimited budget and cool shit like this would have been signed off on with no hassles.
That said, Christie's and Sotheby's would be your best best. I suppose you could sell it to the Hard Rock, but it's been over 10 years since I was there and I couldn't tell you where to start there now.
Look for someone who specialises in MJ memorabilia. You might find someone with a coin fetish that also ticks the boxes for wanting this kind of thing. Sadly, the condition isn't the best, but given the rarity and the fact that it was once owned by MJ himself, you could get a real pretty penny for such an object.
Considering the fact that they probably rarely come up, have an actual value due to melting potential and its personal connection, I wouldn't let it go for anything less than $12,500 before 6 months of trying to find the right buyer.
