What I'm trying to say about this thread is the every time the US jumps in some kind of war, the Brits were always there to back them up. While the EU tries to figure all sort of fiscal laws to put pressure on it's already burdened citizens the Arab nations come up will sort of plans to attack and destroy many parts of Europe.
On the other hand, since the US made their move towards a war in Syria , if they back out now they'll look like cowards ... It's either war or Arabs will be more then sure that they can push everyone around and nothing will happen to them...Comment

But I guess as long as the federal govt. picks countries that CAN'T fight back...it's all good and we are being morally superior, or "saving face" or something.
At least the people in Syria (whom have always hated us anyway), will be happy to know that they can die from U.S. missiles now instead of Syrian chemical weapons.

Democracy. When put to a vote this week, the British politicians voted against it, stating they need to see definite proof it was al-Assad's lot that used chemical weapons. It the vote had been yes, the British would be there already.
The feeling in the UK is we don't want to be deceived like we were with weapons of mass destruction and interfere in a countries' civil war. Imagine if this was not al-Assad who did it, that's how it is being looked at right now, trying to take an informed decision.
If the need to go to war with Syria is moral, right and fair, the British will be there.

If Syria attacks Turkey in any way (which is likely as Assad would want to escalate it into something much bigger) then as a member of NATO the UK would have to consider it an attack on us and we'd get dragged in by default anyway. Whilst I support Camerons political party I've come to realise that the guy is a really bad politician. He wanted to win this vote and only lost by 13, 30 of his own party voted against and a load of others didn't even bother to turn up. He rushed it through with very little forethought, just like his knee jerk antiporn bullshit, his inability to win an overall majority at the last general election. There's a pattern of glossy presentational announcements with no REAL thinking involved and Cameron trusting that he can charm his way to victory. Having said that the people of Syria can ultimately thank Tony Blair and Alistair Campbell for the UK not willing to assist.Comment
