As an atheist, such acts don't offend me from a religious perspective (especially if genuinely political). However, as much as I may disagree with religious people, I do not see the point in deliberately offending them. Call it a basic respect for other people and their humanity regardless of their religious beliefs.
If this is more for crass financial gain than any true political statement, as I suspect, then you are a disgrace to this industry as far as I am concerned.
