    Amish Mafia

    has anyone or does anyone want to see amish mafia on discovery channel? not sure if serious but if this is what discovery channel considers educational then please god help me and help anyone who will watch discovery channel, this is absurd.

    lonely planet was a great show, that is not in production anymore. myth busters is okay, but generally the quality of the discovery channel has not slipped, but slided by viewing the shows they currently have in their schedule.

    it has become more infotainment.

              It is the most disgusting, absurd and exploitive show ever created. Levi is just some roofer that lives in the area.

                              GoldRush and Moonshiners were decent last season.

                              This season GoldRush has started out slow and boring. Too much hunting where to mine, and no actual mining happening.

                              Moonshiners hasn?t started its season yet but Tickle seems to have his own show. I don?t care much about watching a person that stays drunk 24/7 or a show that seems to glamorize such things as drunk driving.

                              Amish Mafia? Never watched an episode. Never plan to.

                                          i think the discovery channel certainly are and they are probably mostly americans.

                                          i have been viewing their other shows too about the alaskan oil drilling and deep sea fishing in the bering straight between alaska, russia and the arctic. what ruins it is this infotainment aspect to their production, instead of the whole affair being more orderly and about fact, not scripted and edited half pie fiction.

                                          the discovery channel was so much better in the nineties. since then, they have slacked off enormously or not doing the main things right like they used to in my opinion.

                                                          my situation is is that i watched the three or four alaskan russian shows on the one channel and thought, nope this isn't right, then i find out about this show amish mafia and think, this is flat out wrong.

                                                              Now obviously this show is fake. The bad part is that some of the others are not so people tend to think their is some editorial review behind the system and obviously now there is not. Gold Rush seemed to be about trying to mine for gold. Moonshiners is just a TV show as they have to many camera angles. The ATF has asked them to put a disclaimer on the show so people would know it was not really about running moonshine and they declined.

                                                                              discovery channel needs to get back to how they were, serious about what they did, not this infotainment especially three shows focusing on one part of the world. maybe they are trying to keep production costs down, perhaps that explains it, i think we will never know.
