Possibly a datacenter update or error on google's end. I'd be pissed if I paid 9mill for a domain banned from google.

Guys...Porn.com is not banned by google!!!!!!!!!!!!
The index is PR%...they just changed the site structure around a bunch, there probably isn't a lot of natural links in that have been indexed yet, so it's taking a minute for google to pick it up.
Anytime I revamp a domain I try to keep the old URLs intact, but pimproll re-arranged it and now it needs to be reindexed...it will just take a little time.
No big deal!Comment

The homepage isn't even indexed and they have 12,000 links coming into it. I've redesigned sites too and never had the homepage go out like that for this long. Could be a lot of things, maybe the old owners asked for all pages to be removed, maybe there was a block on it before. In any case, there is no reason the homepage of a site with over 12,000 links would not be indexed.Guys...Porn.com is not banned by google!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never seen a banned domain show PR. If it were banned the bar would be gray. The homepage isn't even indexed and they have 12,000 links coming into it. It happens on very old bans. They lost their PR and being indexed in Google. Then all of a sudden the PR pops back up and they still aren't indexed. Not sure if it's a bug in the PR algo that doesn't account for banned sites. Nonetheless I've seen it on a couple old sites I owned that had a ban back in 2003. They had PR popup in 2006 for some reason but never got indexed again. It's a somewhat common occurence for older banned sites but I can't link to other forums to show you some examples.
My guess is they got banned many years ago and just haven't gotten back in.Last edited by pocketkangaroo; 02-26-2008, 06:12 PM.Comment

Another possible scenario is the previous owner put in an urgent removal request:

If that is the case, they'd have to use the tool to get the content re-included.Comment

2 years ago we got danerd.com banned/sandboxed for 2 month for selling links and subdomains to a google adsence scammer , i kept my pr and even went trought a google dance and got a pr5 ..but my index was not even listed site:danerd.com gave 0 results. We wrote to google asking a re-indexation via the webmaster tool area. We exlpained in details the mistake we did and made proof that we fixed it. Took about 2 weeks and we got reindexed.. and even got a pr6.
The bad thing is that i never got back the 20k of serps traffic we use to get daily.
anyone want to buy pr6 funny and sexy video site?Comment

having a PR and a google listing are not exclusive to each other. PR is updated once every 6 months. Google is updated everyday. 6 Months ago Google had NO PR and No Google listing. With some tweaking porn.com acquired a pr ranking and a google listing. With some more tweaking it lost its algo listing.
It lost its algo listing cuz the domain was parked. Anytime google finds a domain being parked, or finds its own ad results showing up it delists that domain.
I follow porn.com progress from a position of an unofficial consultant of porn.com ampire, so trust me i know whats happening with porn.comComment

Not true. I've had domains banned since before the invented the google toolbar. It's just reindexing. All of the new incoming affiliate links are probably fucking it up as well.It happens on very old bans. They lost their PR and being indexed in Google. not that it really matters i see no reason why google would not unban/relist them anyways , just strange that it would show nothing..hatisblack at yahoo.comComment
