Oddly, I got my start in video - working as a video editor for AOV (Adults Only Video) here in Canada. But with our own websites we went with photos only - and stayed that way. I burned out of shooting vids through the 80s and never had the desire to shoot video alongside of our photography (even though we bought vidcams to use).
But he was right - video was definitely the future.
