I've thought about it, but never decided to give it a try. I can think of very few things that mean so much to me that I want them on me and with me the rest of my life, but there are a couple I've been debating.

would you really?
it's not as easy as it may sound.
Had a few 6 hour plus sessions in the murky past. The problem I used to find was after a period of time, around 3-4 hours I think, it just starts getting sore. The skin seems to become super-sensitive and just the needle touching hurts like hell and it goes downhill from there. Daft thing about it is I hate pain.
I went a little over 12 hours once and had to stop when I started feeling all clammy and cold and couldn't stop shivering. My friend was tattooing me and was only in town for a day so I wanted him to finish my arm before he left.
My longest tattoo session at one time sitting was 11 hours and that was to color my full sleeve on my right arm and it still 2 took sessions to do hehe
I haven't had anything done yet that required that much work, but I could do it. In fact, I'm looking forward to it sometime soon...I plan to get a 3/4 sleeve on my left arm once my scars heal down enough.

I'll quite happily admit that I will NOT get tattoos because I'm scared shitless of the needle.. However I've gone with many friends to get theirs... I have a friend who has a vine that wraps around her entire body.
I used to do piercing though and that doesn't make me squeamish.. I just couldn't do it to myself
However, I will admit that I had two children by c-section, and you have to be pretty fucking bad to do that shit :P Most people with tattoos would faint at the first contraction, or being awake while people are doing surgery on your body.. feeling hands and whatnot moving your internal organs around is NOT something that's easy to deal with.
I've been thinking about getting one. Is it worth it?
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
Sat for 8 hours for my armband twice. Still have another 8-10 to go. Not easy especially on the inside and armpit. Totally wiped me out both times, took almost two days to recover.
the best tatoo I ever saw was a small canadian maple leaf in the small of a babes back with the words "made in canada' under it. only tatoo on her. I loved that one.
most people OVERDO them though...
This dog, is dog, a dog, good dog, way dog, to dog, keep dog, an dog, idiot dog, busy dog, for dog, 20 dog, seconds dog!
there are two times I can recount that I began to squirm under the gun.... once was the right arm sleeve: 6 hours a day for 4 days in a row. My arm was fucking hamburger for a month.
The other was the neck shot.... unholy pain.
I wouldn't want a tattoo so big that it would take that long. After a certain point, it just gets tacky. Well, some people can pull-off a sleeve or whatever, but I am not one of them.

I also have a huge needle phobia, but getting a tattoo is nothing like getting an injection or having blood drawn. I would rather get a tattoo every day for a week than have my blood drawn once! It's fine if the needle is only piercing those first few layers of skin, but anything deeper than that I can't handle. Anybody else get this way?
