Yah it's the network migration - here's the email I got from them the other day:
North Tone Systems (hosthead.com) will be performing a migration of its hosting customers to a new data center on February 29th, 2008. Due to our increasing size it is a necessary business decision to move into a new facility.
The new data center was built utilizing the latest available technologies, provides us with considerable more room for growth, and a more robust option for bandwidth.
The details of the move are below.
Date: February 29th, 2008
Time: 9:00pm CST
Duration: 2 - 4 Hours
Impact: Loss of connectivity to servers.Comment

Our sites hosted with them are down since almost 8 hours now, almost our whole TGP network is down
I contacted them several times via ICQ but they don't reply anymore, don't know what the hell is going on there!!!Comment

When I got that email I moved all my shit from them fast. They are a great host but something told me they would be down longer than expected and I just can't afford to take that chance. Plus the free month from PhatServers sounded very nice. So I skipped the downtime and got a free month of hosting.
They are a great host though and I recommend them. Sure their support has usually been great but this doesn't count much if there's a real issue with your box and their support is online but doesn't asnwer for hours or keep you updated what is wrong. The expected downtime of 2-4 hours was even bad enough for TGP's, now it's more than 8 hours and I have the bad feeling that they really messed something up!Comment

We knew ours would be down, after the window we just sent an email to [email protected] and they had it right up and said the move over was complete. We host with 3 different companies and Host Head has always been wonderful and we look forward to continuing our account with them

It looks like our box was back up, but the IP's had been changed so that our DNS was down.
I just logged in, managed to find the new IP and I think we will be back up once the DNS propagates.
If you are still down chances are it's because your DNS is fucked.Comment
