I only know of a couple girls worthy of being called Pornstar and Jenna Jameson is one of them. I really have no taste for pornstar porn so just seeing the text pornstar makes me close my browser as fast as I can.

A pornstar is someone who has done this for a long time and is well known.

Someone who has modeled naked on a website isn't a "porn star".

I try not to use "pornstar" unless the girl is actually a recognized name talent -- been in the biz for a long time, has a bunch of movies under her belt, either is or has been a contract girl.

If it's just some chick fresh off the bus, I call her a "porn starlet"

Good luck with that. Not sure if it is true on the website but Playboy used to be able to pay less because being in Playboy had a cachet. Giving them the title "girl shot for content" might have less cachet.

Pornstar thing I am easier going on. I do no think we should make it that exclusive but it is more of DVD title then a web title.

People not in the biz will often use the term "porn star" as any random girl that has done some kind of porn on DVD or even sometimes referring to online porn. All you guys insisting that there should be a more specific meaning, limited to girls with DVD credits or notoriety are fighting a losing battle to make the term mean something more strict.

It's similar to those pinheads who insist that females who play roles on tv shows or movies should be referred to as actors, not actresses. Yeah, whatever...

if they are listed it is because they have earned the title of porn star, pornstarempire.com is pretty picky about who they call a "porn star"
