The US, the economy, The Fool that runs the place and a question.

Ok. We all know that Bush is an idiot.

We all know that the economy in the US, is not doing so good.

    Im NOT blaming BUSH.

    I just found this article.

"Bush: U.S. is not headed for recession"
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23389508/

We all know that he is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

It was announced today or yesterday, that the US is headed for a recession. They then lowered the rate another 1/2 percent or so.
    Today the market is down.

    The Question:

Is Bush right, and the only reason that the market dropped today, and people are afraid to spend, is because of a few people with power saying that things are bad???

Would not surprise me. I dont think that it has much to do with the housing market, I think someone wants to get paid, and this is one way to do so.

Sound byte media drives everything from the economy to the presidential nominees. Funny, the tax refund Bush was proposing to stimulate spending was reported between two news stories about the need for Americans to start saving their money in case of recession ... news shows are clueless and ratings driven. But they influence everything.

I'm wondering how a 2% rise in the cost of a barrel of oil is supposed to result in a 20% increase in the price of gasoline to $4/gallon in the US.

Political turmoil has always a great impact on economy so that is not surprising.
