i've had to go watch some youtube videos that players post of themselves shredding a song to help me get past a roadblock, those kids are good! there's a forum as well and a lot of online resources with suggestions and such.
the game reads the skill level on the fly and adjusts the amount of notes coming accordingly, it does a super job at that and if things get overwhelming, there's a riff repeater and some arcade style games to help with technique.
i got a <$100 acoustic electric via ebay to see if i would even play the game, surprisingly this thing gets in tune and stays in tune for days, which is crucial because the game requires the guitar to be in-tune prior to playing each and every time a song rolls.
