    Use Dissonance to get you sales

    I wrote about this a while ago and A few people have said they tried it with there sites and found it to work.

    See what you think, and if you try it, I would love to see what you did.

    I hope some of you find it a great way to get sales.

    I am planning on using it soon for a mainstream site.

              How to reduce dissonance?: "dvtime is an asshole", i don't listen to him, my garden is better.

                  Lets take a beer advert. The person in the advert drinking the beer will be seen as successful, probably has lots of friends or has a sexy girlfriend.
                  btw you make a confusion between the halo effect and consonance

                      It's actually called "The Rule Of Contrast". It can be used in many ways, for good and for bad, and I often use it in my personal life to make myself feel better:

                      "Well, at least I'm not ________ (insert horrible medical or mental illness here)."

                      Or you can use it to fuck with people's heads, literally, like they do in penis pill ads:
                      "Your penis isn't ten feet long? What's wrong with you? ALL real men have ten foot penises!"

                      Or, it's also been called 'Reverse Psychology":
                      "No honey, whatever you do, DON'T suck my dick..."

                      Heh, works with mismatchers and stubborn people who will do the opposite JUST to do the opposite, regardless of what it is. "DON'T jump off that bridge mate!"
