Yup. Paying attention to what is said over time. Meeting people at functions, conventions, hockey games etc.
A look in the eye and a hand shake does me a lot of good. It makes people see that i am a genuine person and it also serves as a deterrent if people do have the idea in the back of their head, of fucking me over.
Im very fortunate, people put money in my account and i send out the content. People check me out with other people. My record and good reputaition work well for me. I get way more business for being honest. For me its not about the money, its about the relationship and the content i produce. I keep those two in good standing, the money comes!!!
If i ever was involved in a miss-understanding, i would put all my effort into clearing it up. Because if someone "RIGHTFULLY" OR "WRONGFULLY slanders my name and reputation, It would suck!!
But then again it is strait forward for me in what i do. So many shades of grey with what a lot of you guys deal with.

if scammers didn't use it then it would be serving its purpose as a place where people can go find a list of good companies to do business with. Guys I am listening to your concerns but a lot of people are mentioning things that I have already addressed and gave solutions for. I have some good ideas i haven't mentioned as well. But if you notice something that hasnt been mentioned please share. If you think it will work if done right then great, because I think i can pull it off or at lease could give it a try. It's not something that I am going to waste weeks of my life on. I have programmers on staff, when one frees up I send him over my notes and how i want it to work, I check his work a couple weeks later the site is built. Then I contact a group of people to get them to test it and use it, then i come back here and tell everyone about it. the industry is founded on shady practices from day one, evolved through shady practices, and is doing it again. this is nothing new.
i researched heavily the adult entertainment industry. its just the way it is.
we are trying to legitimize an illegitimate industry on many counts. we are not morally acceptable to society in many facets.
we attract less than honorables. the industry is a flytrap for criminals. always has been. not everyone here is an ethical business person. we cannot be surprised that someone will shake your hand in person and stab a rusty dagger in your back to make an extra .25 cents a month.
i have learned to not trust ANYONE. ANYONE.
we will not change the industry.
all you can do is ride along and learn how to make your money honest if you don't want to make it at the expense of others.
the tube sites are not doing anything illegal. they are hiding behind a loophole, several of them actually. but legally, they are not breaking the law.
where everyone gets caught up and emotional is that we know each other and expect people to have a code.
many of the people in this business have no ethics.
i am much happier now that i trust NO ONE. make your decisions with that mindset, as i am sure you do already and don't worry about who's shady and who's not. i lost thousands of dollars trying to unite these renegades. you can't do it.
just some friendly advice, stop caring about them man.

The only reason I post here is because i need a quick break, i cant work none stop hours at a time. That is primary because boards is not what they used to be, back when I started in the late 90s, the boards was an important tool in your marketing and networking, there was also higher ethics than today and boards was moderated more strict not allowing the same bullshit as today.
One of the main problems is that people do not really treat this as a business anymore, people are judged based on postcount totally disregarding their business and or join date, the date at least say something about when you joined the board / community.I buy plugs

GFY is a great place to search but you have to sort through the TONS of fake nicks and bullshit. Anyone here can bitch about anyone for anything. What I have mentioned several times in this thread would be a service that only people who did business together could leave comments about that transaction and rate the other person. Huge difference and a hell of a lot easier then going through pages of bullshit of mostly attacks and drama, mostly 2nd and 3rd hand info to try to figure out what really happened.
