Montreal or Vancouver.
I say stay away from Toronto, it's a really depressing city.Comment
-
Tanker, there's a huge difference from living in Oakville and living in the city of Toronto.
I liked Oakville but I think Toronto sucks and is a depressing city where there's nothing but work and party and shit load of back stabbers/gossipers.Comment

lol name me 1 european who cares about hockeyVancouver = Pleasant weather, gorgeous women, so so hockey.
Montreal = Cold winters, easy women, best hockey.
Toronto = Hot and muggy in the summer, cold in the winter, shitty hockey.
Out of the three cost of living is probably lowest in Montreal and the most expensive in Vancouver. I'm under the impression that the night life is better in both Toronto and Montreal, I dunno your choice. I'm not originally from Vancouver but considering the amount of Torontonians that live here I'd have to say this city isn't too shabby
id look at the weather first of all things, bad weather is one of the things i hate the mostComment
-
Haha, its not that they aren't white but that they are immigrants. Majority of the immigrants go to toronto/montreal which wouldn't be so bad even if they even attempted to learn the language before coming here or even tried to blend in a little bit.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment
-
Way too many homeless people to step over in toronto. One thing I can't stand is being harassed at every single place i go to for change. Change, change you got some change, chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang. Leave me the shit alone! Then you have the poor kids bugging you to donate money so they don't turn into little criminals who call you asshole and say they're gonna rob you when they get older when you don't give them anything and the donate money to the half dead blind deaf mutants who make you feel like shit when you don't donate money. Sometimes i get sick of living in bigger cities. lolyou don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

That's really just a vision of the downtown core of toronto.. Toronto is more than just downtown.. there are soooo many little communities within the city that most people will always be completely ignorant of.
Oakville? Too many uppity WASPS and annoying rich kids driving daddy's beemer.I died.Comment

Oh No! Cultural Diversity! Run for the hills!
This is exactly the kind of ignorance that makes me LOVE this city.. I escaped from St. Catharines.. a 90% white, backwards, ignorant, uncultured go-nowhere hick-town filled with do-nothing losers and old people... THANK GOD.I died.Comment

Yea, Toronto (and this country) would be so awesome if immigration never existed... I know that all I ever want to see or talk to is the same ol', same ol'. Fuck I hate thinking outside of my little box. I'm so comfortable in here.

Montreal's probably got everything that you're looking for; good skiing, hot women, great nightlife...oh and excellent schools!
Did I see people shouting out London, ON!?!? Western is Canada's answer to Valley Girls, bunch of sluts driving their Beemers living off daddy's dollars...they do love the cock mind you, but the nightlife is fucking shit, and Bolar Mountain is not even close to being a ski resort!Comment

Well if you like tons of immigrants who can't speak english sucking up our tax dollars by being on welfare, then good for you.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

Yeah muslims are so open minded.Oh No! Cultural Diversity! Run for the hills!

Haha, my one friend is a car dealer so he goes to the Toronto Auto Auction every week. He says the muslims are the rudest bastards you could ever imagine. Most of them don't speak english and he says they will even run right into you on purpose if you do not get out of their way when walking through the car lanes.Comment

Don't label me a moron if you're against labels then smart guy. Of course not all immigrants are like this but the number that are these days seems to be increasing. I'm sure they come here to share in your dream of a culturally diverse utopia too.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment
-
Except for the fact they hate everything your country stands for, and the fact that you are in it. How did this topic go so far south?Comment
-
I'm against broad sweeping generalizations about a lot of things, especially cultures. Your label has been proven accordingly in this thread though.Comment

It's only February, and Vancouver is making me feel like it's spring already! Just in time for the birthday!

I live in Toronto, and as all Canadians know we are the centre of Canada ;) We have great schools, restaurants and neighbourhoods. There is plenty to do. We do have ski resorts in Ontario, but nothing like Montreal or Vancouver. Travelling north of Toronto to cottage country is a fantastic and relaxing way to spend your time in the summer to get away from it all.
I have family in Vancouver and you can't beat the landscape there, its just beautiful, but its the most expensive option. Less sun then in Toronto and Montreal, but less snow in Vancouver-proper. The skiing and mountains in Banff are amazing, lots of snow, which is about 1 -2 hours away from Vancouver.
I have friends in Montreal and they love living there. There is more of European flare there, that you don't get in Toronto or Vancouver, still lots of restuarants and things to do. The winters are worse than in Toronto. There are lots of skiing north of Montreal, at Mount Tremblant and other resorts.

A little further than that, Banff is about 9 hours. Whistler/Blacombe are about 1.5 hours from downtown and probably the best skiing in Canada. If that's too far then you could go to the local hills which are only 30min away

Your whole cultural diversity thing is nothing but hippe bullshit. Do you really think those who immigrate from backwards countries are thinking this? Go to where they came from and see how culturally diverse you can be.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

Vancouver .. we have the University of BC and Simon Fraser University .. both out standing schools and the rest is a no brainer .. Vancouver by far is the most temperate of all the cities in Canada .. and with the pacific ocean and coastal mountain range ..was voted the best place to live on the planet a few times in our past ..No sig .. just meComment

McGill University has a worldwide reputation (its in Montreal). Montreal is know for its festivals, nightlife, European culture, bilingual context (McGill is mainly English) and yes, girls are hot here - which compensates for cold winters. Summertime is a ball in Montreal, unlike Toronto and yuk - Ottawa - the dullest city in Canada where bars close at 1am (3am in MTL). Msg me mate, I live in Montreal and I'll be glad to take you around ;)http://www.vixyagency.com/index_en.htm

i live in montreal, never lived anywhere else.
winter is really annoying but if you like skying you'll like it. Its a party city too. Everybody agrees quebec women are pretty, cuties everywhere, and they are hot in bed ( I dated anglos and they all were impressed by the difference between ottawa women and montrealers.)
BUT its french, so you need to live with it. Lots of people dont speak english or dont want to. The west side of town is more anglo though.
Rent is really really cheap compared to any other big city.
I have met a LOT of immigrants, or people from anywhere in the world and they all loved montreal. Myself I love ottawa I'll probably move there when I'm 40, it has gorgeouse houses and its a quiet place.

It would help if you could actually spell the city names properly since you are going to be deciding on which one you are going to live into
I lived in my Toronto my whole life, I got my own place in the downtown core, easy access by transity pretty much anywhere I want to go in the city is about a 25 to 45 minute train ride.
I am close the club district even though I don't go to the them. I am mostly a home body.
the Rent is a bit pricey but it all depends on which part of the city you are in.
as for bars I can always find out 5 minute walking from my apartment or anywhere in the 10 mile radios probably even bigger. There is always a pub around.Comment
