been eatin' ALOT of shrimp and wasabi lately.... (and eggrolls too).... and I just finished a batch.... but I noticed that now I gotta eat huge globs of the stuff to get it to rip my face off like it should...... how is this possible???

Hey AMP -- How good is the Japanese food in Hawai'i? How many restaurants are there by square mile? How much money does the average Sushi Deluxe go for ($16 here)? I gotta have answers to these questions for next month as sushi is the best god-damn food in the world.
But............ I do not like spicey foods thus I do not like wasabi. I think it ruins the taste of the fish

What we do around our house is simple. We keep 30+
kinds of chilis around. We just mixup what we use so
that we never build a full tolerance to any 1 kind.
Also if you want "KICK" make sure that you are not
diluting it in your mouth with sugar. Instead of a Coke,
get an unsweetened ice tea with your sushi.

oh man i love wasabi! Thought I was the only one eating gobs of it But yeah you do develop a tolerance for it, just gotta step it up or try another sushi place. Wasabi and chile both vary a lot.. I've noticed like 4X difference in the sushi bars I've been to. The belief is that wasabi kills any bacteria in raw fish, so eat it up!
Try ordering your sushi chef a beer and ask for the good stuff, they might make it fresh for you.

Sure thats real wasabi? I used to think I was immune to it because I'd been using the stuff they sell to us round-eye's in grocery stores.
Then I plastered my usual big dollop on top of a tuna roll in a Japantown restaurant. My head almost exploded

Speaking of Wasabi, Try out Wasbi mashed potates, dop a tabespoon of Wasabi when mixing up the mashed potates.....
Drop some tahini - ginger portabello mushrooms on top of the wasabi mashed potates. Really nice Vegan meal and I am not veg at all, but, the Mrs is. Really Really good..............Comment
