    2.8 million for a horse. Would you?

    Baske Afire, will be sold at public auction on Tuesday by Cedar Ridge Farm in Scottsdale at a price that could hit $5 million.

    “You could have a thousand colts born and have only one like Baske Afire,” said David Boggs, a major Arabian horseman who owns Midwest Training Centre of Minnesota and Scottsdale, and who bought several breedings to Baske soon after his birth nine years ago. Boggs manages Magnum Psyche, another top breeding stallion.

          considering how much people pay to breed with top name horses, for sure... most race horses make more after they retire from racing and breed for years and years

              well I know top dollar is paid. No doubt, however I believe it is a new record as far as Arabians and studs go. His stud fees are 4,500 which are not uncommon, however the auction price is.

                  We bought a retired thoughbred for our ranch. Paid 700 for her. She loved the place. plenty of grass and nothing to do. One day the lady came back wanted to buy her back from us. offerd us 10k for her. But the wife was too attached. The horse loved her.
