Tough call! I just want to play lots of online multi player first-person shooter games... but they all seem to have good games!
Wii, PS3 or Xbox36? It is a tough call...

None of them. I'd rather double the cash and buy a decent guitar. -
Wii is a waste unless you're not much of a gamer. It's a console made for folks who don't play many games. Most of the titles are crap filled collection of Minigames. WiiSports is fun for a few hours, but it wears off quick.
The 360 has some great titles and a lot more to come. Gonna be a big year for XBox.
2008 is the year the PS3 picks up speed. There will be a few top tier titles that will be exclusive to the PS3 (at this point, but I'm sure a few of them will pop up on the 360 at some point). Throw in the BluRay player and right now it's the most bang for the buck. There are some good games out there already to hold you over until the new ones start to hit.
I would lean towards the 360 if I didn't have either just because of the big library of games and XBox Live.Comment

Thats good input... good input. I like the whole... PS3 controller... how you can move it and the game follows. That's probably the one thing (aside from a big selection of games) that I don't like about the PS3 at this point. BUT, it's not something you have to use...so it's all good.
If you like online gaming and shooters, XBox Live can't be beat. For the most part, the really good shooters are on both systems, so as long as you avoid the Wi...I'm sure you'll be happy.Comment

If your after ONLINE experience go the Xbox 360, every game is basicly made to work on Xbox Live, EVERYONE has mics so team based games are awesome (Call of duty 4) kicks ass. Try playing a team based shooter with only some of you having mics its annoying as hell.
Xbox 360 has rumble in controller therefore its shooters feel so much better than the limp PS3 controller that has no feeling or vibration. (at least until the end of the 2008 when PS3 gets its rumble back I hear).
Xbox360 has the most games right now & the best games and its the most polished game experience cause of Xbox live just kicking ass. As far as I know the Xbox 360 graphics are the best i've seen so far, Gears of war(exclusive) is simply stunning and enough of a reason to buy a Xbox 360 in my book.
The PS3 is a great Blueray player and certainly is a nice unit with many good features. I'll certailny like the PS3 more when it has rumble back in the controller. until then it is completely off my radar. Why play a game with a limp stick in your hand when you can play a game that makes you feel everytime you shoot a enemy. (vibration is so important especially in shooters).
Good luck and happy hunting. ;-)

PS3 is certainly picking up speed now. There are some great games out just now, with alot more on the way ! X-Box 360 of course is still kicking ass too ! You can't really go wrong with either console.
Don't even bother with the Wii, especially since you're saying you want to play online multi player first-person shooter games...Comment

Ya, that can suck too. It just depends on how you play. Personally, when I sit down to play a game, I'm all slumped back on the couch just being comfortable. So in order to play a PS3 game, I can't really relax. It's cool at first for sure, especially controller the arrows on Heavenly Sword, but overall, more of a pain in the ass for what it's worth.

I have all 3 systems and each one has it's points. The Wii is a good system for when you want to fuck around, especially if you have friends over, it's like the entertaining system. When you want to sit down and have a serious gaming session, you definately don't want to play the Wii, ha ha.
As far as the 360 and PS3, I love them both. If I had to recommend a system, I'd say the 360 due to it's huge library and Xbox Live network being very strong.
This WILL be the year of the PS3, for the most part it's because everyone has a 360, so what's next on their list, the PS3. The system does lack a strong library of exclusive games. It's a big blow that GTA is coming out for both systems on the same day, but I'm sure there'll be some exclusives coming down the pipeline. God Of War 3 is a ways off, but when that comes out, it's gonna sell a lot of systems.Comment

Rubbish
Wii is the most innovative console in the history of videogames ... The PS3 and Xbox360 are just rehash systems. The Wii has a great set of titles out and coming out ... dismissing the console is like saying online porn isn't going to be a success.
This whole crap about hardcore gamers vs people who are casual gamers is stupid ... The Wii has plenty of games that cater for people who don't just like minigames.
Come on man ... :P

Then you would want to get a PS3. Call of Duty 4 is the game to beat right now. Online play is awesome. Difference between the Xbox and PS3 in that category is you have to pay to play online with the xbox, but on the PS3 it's free to play online.Originally posted by ValidusTough call! I have a Wii at the office here. We bought it thinking it would be a good lunch time break to get us off our asses and get some inter office fun going.
Its sat in the lunch room untouched for months. I guess we need a good game for it. Any recomendations?
I have had a xbox360 for almost 2 years and I love it. It has now become my media center where I stream movies, play my ipod, i use the private chat feature to talk to my brother and save a shit load in long distance.
Can anyone tell me why xbox doesnt have a browser?
Also can you mod it yet?Derek *Dwreck* Smout

I have all 3 systems and they are lots of fun, my only comment is that i had to send my 360 back to microcrap TWICE (and this is why I bought the PS3 in the first place because I didn't want to wait for a fucking month without a console)Comment

360 is modable, but it doesn't play homebrew/unsigned code. So basically, you can play copied games if you want. Nothing more than that at this point.I have a Wii at the office here. As for good Wii games, there really isn't anything that stands out. Mario Galaxy is pretty cool, but aside from collections of minigames and even ports of web based Flash games (Chicken Shoot)...you're not going to get much.Comment

Actually, I'd give the title of most innovative to Nintendo...but not for the Wii. The Nintendo DS is my favorite gaming platform at the moment. If I'm not mistaken, it's also the biggest selling.Rubbish

Name one title aside from Super Smash Brothers that might make a mark in 2008, My Horse and Me? Nintendo has 3 first party titles slated for release this year...2 of which are "rehashes" like you mentioned the others doing (Super Smash and MarioKart). No More Heroes was supposed to be some sort of saving grace for hardcore gamers who own a Wii, but again...while innovative, it was a TOTAL let down. Even the developer has said he feels he's been let down by Nintendo and the Wii. Check the game review sites and see how the game scores hold up...they don't.
I'm not dismissing it at all. It is what it is. A console that's geared to get people who don't play video games into games. I bought one for my parents for Christmas and they love it. We have one and it sits collecting dust, because games worth playing have been few and far between. Zelda, Mario...that's about it. It's been a success, and with success comes a flood of garbage games...and that much no one can deny.Comment

also ... what... because the developer has a shit game, he's blaming Nintendo?
You know ... I started Twisted Illustration up two years ago ... before that, I spent 8 years in the games industry (I still do development work for some studios now) ... I worked for Konami, EA etc ... worked on Fifa, Madden, Need for Speed Carbon etc ...
and you know ... Nintendo did noththing to hinder our performance development wise. The publisher was always the problem.
So actually, blaming the console company is a very bad excuse ... and more often than not, a really lame way of offloading the blame because you simply fucked up your development
I know what I'm talking about
Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, all have guidelines and rules ... but most of the ones I encountered from Nintendo were "You're using the controller in the wrong place and you've taken the logo off" or "You're using the Nintendo brand where you shouldn't be" etc ..

I see a wii in my future. They're just so darned fun to play with friends. For my serious gaming, I have a powerful enough pc to keep me occupied. I have been informed by my boyfriend, though, that we're going to get a PS3 the day the next GranTourismo game comes out.email: [email protected]Comment

I really like new Metriod and Zelda for wii. I also like the ability to download old NES, SNES, N64 games for the wii.
Why do you have to pick only 1 gaming system? Buy them all, their pretty cheap. It's better when you can Switch.

Well besides the fact that the 360 fanboys are as about as snobbish and annoying as Mac fanboys and FireFox fanboys. Maybe it's the 16% failure rate of the 360. that's right 1 out of every 6 XBOX 360 will get teh Red Ring Of Death. PS3 fail rate 3%Comment
