                Do you know how many cops and recue workers and people in general get hit when their vehicle in on the side of a highway and they are outside? Having that firetruck there was the SMART move. How would that cop feel if they had moved the firetruck and some idiot crashed into the crashed car and killed everyone?

                                A few years ago I applied for and passed the Los Angeles County Firefighters Reservist program.

                                This is very basic SOP. You ALWAYS put the apparatus between you and oncoming traffic. Better to block a lane and have a traffic jam than have a dead rescue worker on the side of the road.

                                I'm sure that's taught in all fire departments, as it should be.
