One of the dumber things I have ever done, or at least in-line with the kind of things that would only happen to me.
So around a month and a half ago, I book a Valentine's weekend to San Francisco for myself and the girl that I have been dating. I have the whole thing planned out with a nice, romantic, get-me-laid kind of dinner reservation, as well as just bumming around San Fran.
We arrive on Friday morning and go down to an Italian place for some lunch and wine. Afterwards, I tell her that I want to walk down to The W Hotel and have a glass of wine in the lounge. I really enjoy The W and thought she would as well.
When we arrive, she is immediately impressed by the layout, furthermore, it seems that in the lounge, I am a rather well known figure. Immediately, I see LoriZ and she comes over to say hi. Of course, I am completely stunned by the circumstances and convey such message to her. Oddly, she doesn't seem to think anything about the "random" encounter. So my girl and I head over to the bar and take a seat. Right away, Jeff from CCBill comes over and offers to buy us drinks.
At this point, I realize that I have made a critical error, but can't pinpoint the exact specifications of the error. I just know something is really wrong.
So I ask Jeff.
"Hey man, what is going on? Why are you and LoriZ here? I took my girl here for a Valentine's weekend and this is the most random thing I ever could have NOT expected."
He looks up, he laughs.
"Dude, you took your Valentines date to a gay porno gathering and didn't know it, didn't you?"
I get really flushed, most of my color goes the way of the white apron the bartender is wearing. I turn around and look, and realize that I am in the middle of GAYVN with my date. I had no idea this show was going on.
Fucking Fuck.
Ok, not a big deal, some of you might think, but this was so totally not anticipated. I had no idea the show was going on.
Of course, before I know it, I am surrounded by webmasters, many of them joking with me...
"Cory, I knew you would NEVER miss a gay event!"

Fuck.
So I look up and tell everyone, AVN Monte included, that I was on a Valentine's weekend getaway with my girl.
"At the GAYVN? Kinda different I guess..."
Someone says,
"I didn't fucking mean to dude. Jesus."
haha
So finally Monte tells us that he will let us get back to our date. Haha
So I end up sneaking out the back door of The W Hotel. I mean, no offense, but I really wasn't in webmaster mode and felt pretty damn stupid. Plus I needed two badges.
I mean, of all the freaking things that could happen?
I am going to start paying more attention to those Adult Whos Who and Fubar calendars. As it stands, I intend to hold a family reunion during the Phoenix Forum.
