The people who say that there is a way of surviving a tumblr cull are talking bullshit, they just haven't been found yet. All anyone can do with tumblr is to spew out blogs/posts as fast as possible and hope for a few months before being found and deleted then starting again from scratch.

As mentioned above - had a big one go this week and I was pissed. Contacted support and received the following.
The kicker is, I was interacting with people, they were submitting photos, it was ACTIVE. Sure there were links to my websites, but no direct aff links. There was no javascript or misleading links, links linked to the same content that was on the image ie a gallery or video on one of my sites.
Fuck them, I would love to destroy Tumblr - worked hard to create the site and it was starting to generate really good traffic numbers too.

Hello,
We've terminated your Tumblr account at tufkYOUTUMBLR.tumblr.com for spam or affiliate marketing. Per the policies you agreed to when creating your account, Tumblr prohibits such activity.
Don't put deceptive links or dubious code in your posts. That includes using Javascript to inject unwanted ads in blogs, or embedding links to interstitial or pop-up ad services. Don't use deceptive means to generate revenue or traffic, or create blogs with the primary purpose of affiliate marketing.

EDIT
I did ask them what changes I needed to make so that I could work within the rules of Tumblr and never received a reply.
